"My unique perspective on what my journey has been like as a owner of a private practice and what some of the hurdles I’ve experienced and how I’ve overcome them. To provide them with encouragement and direction. I also have a unique perspective having licenses on both sides of the border."
After experiencing depression and anxiety while completing my Master of Arts degree in Religious Studies at the University of Windsor. I realized that I wanted to help other people who might be experiencing similar problems. I entered the Bachelor of Science program in Addiction Studies at Mercy College of Detroit. Following the completion of this degree, I completed a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy. I entered the field of substance abuse in 1988, having completed my first internship at Brighton Hospital, a renown treatment facility in Brighton, Michigan; followed by my second internship at Wyandotte General Hospital: Psychiatric Unit (Wyandotte, Michigan). After graduating, I started working at a treatment centre in Windsor, Ontario. While working, I also completed my graduate degree; my internship was at Northville State Psychiatric Hospital (Northville, Michigan). I have been in the field of Substance Use and Mental Health for over 28 years. I have been in private practice specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma and substance use (and other addictions) since 1995. I am a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, a Canadian Certified Counsellor, a Canadian Certified Addictions Counsellor and a Limited License Psychologist (Michigan).
