Skilled Trades

Intended to support a woman pursuing a career in the skilled trades (Industrial, Construction, Motive Power, Service).

Application Criteria:

  1. Be a woman who has graduated with a secondary school diploma (or equivalent).
  2. Be registered in a Skilled Trades program as a full-time student in an accredited college (or authorized training facility) starting no later than the fall semester of 2024.
  3. Complete and submit the application package by Spring 2024.
  4. A brief essay (250 words max.) that talks about your pursuit of a skilled trades career highlighting influencers in your life, experiences in pre-apprenticeship or apprenticeship programs, and why you are choosing an education in this field.
  5. Your official post-secondary acceptance letter to a skilled trades program at an accredited college in Canada (or equivalent).

STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Math

Intended to support a woman pursuing a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.

Application Criteria:

  1. Be a woman who has graduated with a secondary school diploma (or equivalent)
  2. Be registered in a STEM program as a full-time student in an accredited college or university starting no later than the fall semester of 2024.
  3. Complete and submit the application package by Spring 2024.
  4. Application form with demonstrated financial need.
  5. A brief essay (250 words max.) that talks about your pursuit of a STEM career highlighting influencers in your life, experiences in high school or extracurricular activities (i.e. participation in FIRST Robotics, SHSM programs, etc.), and why you are choosing an education in this field.
  6. Your official post-secondary acceptance letter to a STEM program at an accredited college or university in Canada.

Emergency Response

Intended to support a woman pursuing a career in the Emergency Response sector (i.e. police officer, firefighter, paramedic, etc.).

Application Criteria:

  1. Be a woman who has graduated with a secondary school diploma (or equivalent).
  2. Be registered in an emergency response-related program as a full-time student in an accredited college or university starting no later than the fall semester of 2024.
  3. Complete and submit the application package by Spring 2024.
  4. Application form with demonstrated financial need.
  5. A brief essay (250 words max.) that talks about your pursuit of an emergency response-related career highlighting influencers in your life, experiences (including volunteering), and why you are choosing an education in this field.

Entrepreneurship

Intended to support a woman in her pathway to becoming an entrepreneur through the creation of her own business.

Application Criteria:

  1. Be a woman who has launched a business on or after January 2023
  2. Complete and submit the application package by Spring 2023.
  3. Application form including receipts for expenses related to your startup (i.e. registration, human resources, web design, social media costs, equipment purchases, legal fees, accounting fees).
  4. A brief essay (500 words max.) that talks about why you chose this business, where you saw a need for this business, and how you fulfill that need and highlight any influencers in your life.
  5. Proof of business registration.

Leadership

Intended to recognize a woman in Leadership who has demonstrated both growth in her career and empowerment of other women in her organization or community.

Application Criteria:

  1. Complete and submit the application package by Spring 2024.
  2. A brief essay (500 words max.) that talks about your philosophy of leadership, demonstrated leadership skills, and how they have impacted, colleagues/peers in the support of company or community goals.
  3. Two support letters from colleagues/peers that illustrates how you have exemplified leadership skills.
