A Day in the Life – What’s Your Job Like?

Have you ever wanted to know what a certain career is really like? We asked women about their job and to explain what a typical day at work might be.

Air Logistics Officer Janaya Hansen – Janaya works for the Canadian Armed Forces and is currently serving as the Commanding Officer of a Mission Support Squadron. She’s responsible for the day-to-day workings of a military base, whether in Canada or around the world, and making sure everyone has what they require in order to do their job.
Level 2 Welding Apprentice Maddy Paulson – Maddy started taking trades-based classes in high school and in grade 12, she joined the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) which fast-tracked the first year of her apprenticeship. A typical day currently includes building parts and welding them all together.
Entrepreneur & House Flipper Katie Herbert – Katie is equal parts renovation expert, residential design guru, real estate investor, and TV host. She says there really isn’t a typical day and that’s what she loves; framing, touch-ups, shopping, demo, contracts, payroll…the changing demands give her energy.
